Tributary
of Richland Creek
|

|
Beneath the canopy of the maples,
birches, and pines behind the North Carolina State University
Equine Unit, a tributary of Richland Creek whispers
as it collects water from an upstream pond amidst the
rolling hills The tributary sustains minnows, crayfish
other small fish as well as other wildlife. Neighborhood
children have fun exploring the creek and the life in
it. It is important that this northern boundary of the
Richland Natural Area not only be protected for its
importance in this forest ecosystem, but also for a
future greenway that may one day be along side this
gently rolling stream. |
